WHO YOU ARE

You have at least 10 years of experience of which a minimum five years in commercial/industrial building preparation, managing drawings and specifications to perform civil construction. You will manage and support the construction business in the cluster, being responsible for a number of countries where you’ll be exposed to a multicultural environment, coordinating engineering/technical/architectural design aspects in order to deliver safe, compliant, sustainable and innovative property solutions. You will need to have:

• Master degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or equivalent;
• Knowledge in project & construction management for civil and Technical Installation (MEP) works applied to complex/multinational contexts;
• Excellent time management and communication skills to drive external Stakeholders and internal teams to deliver results on deadlines meeting internal high standards and settled goals;
• Previous experience in the retail sector will be considered a plus;
• Excellent ability to communicate confidently and clearly in English (both written and spoken) – this is mandatory. Another European language will be considered a plus;
• Capability in Remote Team Working

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the development in the Cluster, engaging designers to continuously find cost efficient and innovative design process, optimizing the delivery of our partners / stakeholders. You will:

• Be involved from the conceptual stage of new projects up to Value Engineering evaluations to release the detailed engineering to assume full responsibility including coordinating tasks, resources, risk management, timeframes and budgets;

• Provide technical know-how in order to deliver safe, compliant, sustainable and innovative property solution according to local standards, evaluating technical aspects of new construction techniques and giving support to Construction colleagues for what regard of technical/engineering/architectural aspects, especially in project development phase;

• Maintain and secure up-to-date awareness and understanding of all companies’ frameworks, guidelines and initiatives, supporting projects in: structural and architectural design, fire and risk engineering, HVAC systems and energy modelling, electrical systems, LCC & LCA calculations, technical solutions and innovation for PPP & BREEAM and overall design management (procurement, development and coordination);

• Support Construction Project Managers in: clarifying companies’ standards, selection process of external consultants, giving detailed architectural and engineering design, negotiate alternative technical solutions during the tender phase, managing the quality control of the design and construction work, ensure satisfactory commissioning, testing, training and hand-over of the technical and building systems to Facility Management employees;

• Cooperate with the Facility Management team in the cluster to develop best practice, obtain feedback, and increase technical knowledge of local facility management specialists.


This role is located in Milan (Carugate) and requires availability to travel a few times a year
