IKEA was founded in 1943 by Ingvar Kamprad. As “it’s tough to do business with hungry stomachs” -the first IKEA restaurant opened in 1959 - only one year after the first IKEA store in Älmhult. IKEA Food develops and provides the food sold and served in all IKEA Restaurants, Bistro´s, Swedish Food Markets and the IKEA co-worker restaurants. IKEA Food has over 400 restaurants in 53 markets and every year 650 million guests are enjoying the IKEA Food. With our iconic products like Swedish meatballs, the hot dog and recently added plant balls we are bringing a modern taste of Sweden to the many people.
IKEA food is a fast growing business area in an ongoing rapid and exciting transformation. As part of this journey, we have established Category Area Food, with the responsibility of all food purchasing. In the Category Area, there is a high focus on securing sustainable suppliers and sustainably sourced raw materials.
In the position as temporary Sustainability Developer you will, together with the Category Area Sustainability Manager, contribute to the sustainability development and performance of IKEA Food.
A Sustainability Developer is goal oriented and business-minded with a genuine curiosity to investigate new technologies and solutions that can drive the sustainability agenda.
The Sustainability Developer have the ability to implement in a simple and straightforward way.
Leading development projects across the Category will ensure the ability to lead and drive areas of responsibility, on your own as well as through others.
Major focus will be to collect data and to create reports and input to business teams.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Support to business development teams with trainings for tools and systems for data collection.
Collect, verify, aggregate and report sustainability data and provide input to supplier action plan to meet our sustainability goals.
Collect, aggregate and report raw material volumes and sourcing requirements
Support sustainability related supplier development projects in alignment with Category plans and priorities.
To be successful in the role we see that you need the following knowledge and experience:
A structured approach in analysis and in evaluating different aspects of an issue to be able to support business decisions.
Strong in communicating to enable cooperation with IKEA business teams and suppliers.
English, verbal and written.
Sustainability knowledge for renewable energy and responsible sourcing is beneficial.

The temporary position will be 12 months contract. The position will be based in Malmö until August 2023, then in Älmhult.
