We prefer you have experience in a multi-unit facilities management organization, preferably in a high-volume retail sector as well as an academic degree/professional qualification in Facilities Management (or equivalent) within your specialist area. Another experience of yours is working with sustainability and the environment from a facility management perspective, in relation to your specialist area. You understand and speak fluently English, both vocal and in written.

You have knowledge in following areas:
• how to plan, organize and manage costs and expenditures for a business or organization
• using IT tools in the area of FM (FM information systems (FMIS); Computer Aided FM (CAFM)…)
• how to assess and mitigate risks in a business environment
• ways of working within Facility Management service scope (technical maintenance, logistic equipment, food equipment, safety and security equipment, cleaning, waste management, pest control, landscaping, snow removal, energy&water management…)
• facility Management business processes
• know the country Facility Management market for both hard and soft Facility Management services, as well as the international
• how to successfully deliver, organize and follow-up on ‘soft’ FM services (cleaning, pest control, snow removal, waste management etc.) and ‘hard’ services; the level might depend on your specialist area/subject matter expertise.
• how sustainability interacts with Facility Management (energy consumption, water consumption, emissions, waste management, chemical products, IWAY, purchasing …)
• how to transform our operations to become climate positive and contribute to a circular society

In addition you have good networking skills as you build and maintain a system of strategic business connections and with a driving innovation you stimulate creative ideas that adds valued perspectives. You plan, process and organize the work to help achieve business objectives with high focus to produce quality products.


Support the FM business in the cluster within a defined FM Operations specialist area to optimize the value and efficiency of each property in a sustainable way according to the Ingka Real Estate scope.

Within your specialist area of ‘hard FM services’, including amongst others
o Technical maintenance, including building techniques (HVAC, vertical transport, electricity, …) and equipment (Food, logistics, safety and security, …)
o Asset management

You will:

• support that each property is managed throughout its lifetime including safety, compliance, maintenance and improvement to ensure a safe and operational environment for the business, co-workers, customers and other stakeholders
• support purchase and implementation of relevant property management innovations, digital and technical solutions related to your specialist area that meet the needs of the business and the many people
• advice, mentor and support the delivery of the agreed FM services in the cluster by maintaining and sharing up-to-date expertise and enhance the Ingka specialist area knowledge, while driving operational best-practice within the business in strict adherence with all applicable local regulations and Group mandatories.
• develop and maintain subject area expertise both personally and within the FM organization; drive the requirement collection process in your specialist area with relevant stakeholders
• participate actively in the subject matter network on both local and global level by detecting needs, knowledge and best-practices in the cluster organization and escalate/share them with the group organization. Participate in global subject matter update meetings and organize them in the cluster.
• drive the implementation of approved best-practices and projects, aimed at lowering operational cost, and improving the reliability of assets and the efficiency of the FM services.
• drive the impact of your specialist area on the operational and financial results of FM and the Ikea business.
• contribute to the goalsetting, the FM budgeting activities, the 5 year rolling plan and the annual plan in your specialist area. Assist in controlling cost through working in a lean, simple and cost-conscious way, encouraging colleagues to discover more effective ways or working in your specialist area.
• follow up of permits, licences, certificates and reporting measures in order to stay compliant with local and international legislation regarding the Real Estate FM scope.

Without us in Real Estate it would be difficult to meet our customers in person. In our team we find, develop and manage IKEA properties around the whole world.
