Reporting to the Store Manager, you lead the Facilities and Safety & Security teams across the IKEA stores in Singapore to secure the right pre-conditions are in place to ensure efficient, consistent and compliant daily operations. Leveraging on the expertise of the teams and tools, you are a main contributor in enabling a seamless shopping experience for our customers and a safe working environment for our co-workers through operational excellence. With focus on our customers, development of our people and sound business practices and a genuine interest in sustainability, you optimize results in customer satisfaction, contribute towards the stores’ revenue and profitability and keep our assets in shape as new.
Leadership. You lead and motivate the safety & security and facilities teams across the stores through recruitment and retention strategies, and lead by example to create a culture that is inclusive and aims to motivate and develop the skills of all staff. Succession is key to ensure continuity and stability of the operations.
You engage in high level discussions with Singapore country management to design the long term direction.
Safety and Security. Leading the Safety and Security teams to ensure that the rules, regulation and guidelines from the IKEA Group Risk Manual and local legislations are implemented and monitored in order to ensure the safety of our co-workers and visitors that our stores are safeguarded.
Facilities Management. Leading the Facilities teams to secure store in shape as new. Maintain a short-mid-long term plan to organise preventive maintenance and repairs, installations or improvements to ensure smooth running of the store’s operations to secure the ease of shopping and safety of our customers. Boost on-site operations by promoting best practices and creating better work processes and improve service reliability level.
Sustainability. Lead teams across the stores to manage the facility operations, energy consumption, waste management, recycling rate and circularity ambitions from IKEA and maintenance of the facilities infrastructure and buildings, with the aim of being operationally efficient and reducing our carbon footprint. Ensure technical teams are trained and competent for operations and maintenance of the building.
Budgeting and cost control. Working closely with the Singapore Business Navigator to oversee budget for operating cost and review CAPEX/ OPEX expenditures across the stores related to facilities management and safety and security
Performance Management. Review monthly performance metrices with the Facilities Manager and Safety & Security Manager and provide solutions to drive operational excellence. Implement and ensure systematic KPI requirements are measured, reported, analyzed and actioned appropriately. Challenge, review and improve existing ways of working.
Checks & Audit. Partnering with the regional Compliance Manager, perform internal checks and audits to ensure that we operate in accordance with internal steering documents, regulatory and business requirements imposed by Inter-IKEA System. Conduct or coordinate relevant compliance monitoring activities (audits, reviews, continuous assessment,) and establish new metrics, trend reports etc.
Relationship Management. Maintain proactive liaison with all associated internal and external partners, vendors and stakeholders. Work with Store Safety & Security Manager to establish and maintain contacts with governmental and non-governmental organisations within the scope of safety and security such as police authorities and fire inspectors.
Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in facilities, maintenance and building management and safety and security and well-versed in all local laws and regulations and statutory compliance
Skilled in report writing and giving presentations, Must be able to communicate clearly business and technical concepts and issues to fellow co-workers and senior management
Demonstrated ability to engage at different organization levels and collaborate with cross functional teams
Proficient in analytical and problem solving skills
Able to inspire and mentor teams of staff through promotion of IKEA Culture and Values
Goal-oriented individual with demonstrated expeience in health and safety requirements, vendor management and property technical systems management
