This position is part of Business Development function and in this role you will be Country Sustainability Department team member and report to the Country Sustainability Manager.
This role is located in IKEA Retail Service Office in Janki (near Warsaw) and requires travelling to different IKEA units.

To be successful in this role you need a minimum 3 years of work experience in sustainability and in business, preferably retail, and you have excellent project management skills, including stakeholder engagement. A university degree in sustainability or environmental science will be of additional value.

• have in depth knowledge of how to identify and involve relevant stakeholders to make things happen
• have in depth knowledge of how to initiate, plan, execute, control and close a project, and how to implement long-term plans, according to set budgets and goals
• have very good knowledge of how to balance and merge environmental, social and economic aspects to make business within the limits of the planet
• have very good knowledge on circular economy and climate change
• have good knowledge how healthy and sustainable living contributes to reducing environmental household footprint and helps people make positive change
• have general knowledge of how to ensure customer engagement
• have great interpersonal and communication skills, and experience in public presentations and speeches: you know how to influence and inspire others
• enjoy planning & organizing by coordinating and directing activities
• can complete tasks and achieve results through collaboration
• are open for change and flexible: you can change direction based on new ideas, approaches and strategies, and treat unpredictable situations as opportunities for business growth and personal development
• speak and write English fluently and you communicate in Polish easily in daily situations.


As a Sustainability Business Partner you will enable the sustainable transformation and growth of the IKEA business making it ready for the future today. You will also contribute and support others in the consistent and effective execution of IKEA “People & Planet Positive” sustainability strategy.

You will be especially focused on IKEA Retail’s Circular & Climate Positive agenda in Poland (incl. i.a. circular initiatives and sustainable mobility), and you will:
• secure country adaption of the global direction to drive sustainability initiatives, processes and projects
• facilitate and support relevant country departments (esp. Customer Fulfillment, Real Estate, Commercial), stores and other applicable units in integration and implementation of sustainability agenda in their work and plans, incl. business plan
• proactively identify challenges and opportunities and support relevant country departments, stores and other applicable units, to use them to develop sustainable business
• lead sustainability projects and initiatives with different scope, level of complexity and timeframes and ensure that budget and resources are in place
• follow-up sustainability performance and progress, and document and evaluate initiatives and activities to promote continuous improvement
• develop a strong understanding of specific sustainability situation in Poland within organization
• share and cooperate with IKEA sustainability community.
